Even before completing his business administration studies in 1999, Marco Gola founded Matoma GmbH. And he didn’t stop: he returned to the Faculty of Economics at Furtwangen University as a guest lecturer for a decade. There, in 2002, he laid the foundation for an alumni network by founding the HFU Business Network, which was recognized as a non-profit association five years later.
But Gola’s vision doesn’t end in lecture halls. Since 2010, he has been combining technology and alumni work by developing customized software solutions for university communication with Matoma. This realignment brought him universities from all over the German-speaking region as customers.
Beyond his entrepreneurial activities, Gola is actively involved in the alumni community. He was behind the “Key Figures†working group in the umbrella organization of alumni organizations and sought dialogue with international institutions such as the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in order to set standards in alumni work.
